People do still get saved today! Some will say no to the gospel, and some will say yes to the gospel. Matthew 9:37 says the “harvest is plenteous.” However, we must work in the field to bring in the harvest! The problem is not that “no one wants to get saved these days.” The problem is that very few are sharing the true message of God’s saving grace these days.
When people become enraged, they speak with little forethought and even less consideration for how God would view their spoken thoughts. In Acts 13:48-49, the Jews’ anger was fueled by envy. Envy hurts your testimony, hurts those around you, and hurts the work of the gospel. However, envy does the most damage to the one who embraces it and reveals the most of that person.
Notice how Paul addressed his audience with their background in mind. So, instead of beginning with Jesus as the Messiah, which would have the Jews in a defensive position at the start, he provides a review of their history. Since they are not defensive, they are listening to understand what he says.
The list of changes could continue to be rehearsed for days to come and the impact of these changes will be felt for generations to come. The fact is change is inevitable. However, the change with the greatest impact is not enabled via technology. The change above any possible change is only found in Jesus!
It is essential to live life knowing that my loving God knows how to get my attention. The truth is, Jesus is not so uninteresting that He loses our attention. It is actually that we chose to give our attention away to another. Let’s look at how able the Lord is at getting the attention of a type “A,” aggressive, and bold man like Saul.
