Study the Bible and get know your Savior better than you did last year. The Lord Jesus is the standard for the love all believers must have for others. It’s crucial to develop, nurture, and mature the love you have for Jesus.
Put your cell phone away and take some time to listen to someone
Tell your parents, grandparents, & siblings that you love them…actually speak the words, “I love you.” Assuming they know, is not enough!
Take initiative to help do work around the house without being asked and don’t expect anything in return.
Cut the lawn or shovel the snow of a widow, a family that is sick, or an elderly couple in the neighborhood.
Don’t “disappear” until all the work is done. Join Mom or Dad in the kitchen and help make dinner, or help clean the house, or help work in the yard – with a joyful heart.
Write a note of appreciation to someone and thank them for their friendship and sacrifices they have made on your behalf.
Repeat #3 daily.
Become more aware of the tremendous sacrifices the Lord has made for you, even though you didn’t deserve one of them. Having received such matchless love will drive you to demonstrate a sacrificial love for others.
Memorize verses about God’s love and man’s sinful condition. Meditating on His love and your sinful condition ought to stir your love for others.
Forgive unjust behaviors from others towards you. After all, this is the kind of love God has shown to us…right? “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” Holding on to wrongs in your heart will only make you bitter and true love will be impossible. The one who holds bitterness will suffer the most!
Approach others with a teachable spirit. Expect to learn something you could do better, or even more specifically, expect to discover something you do that is offensive to others. Acknowledging wrong, asking for forgiveness, and restoring the relationship shows a godly humility and love for others. Such a love is a powerful tool for your own relationship with God!

True love requires sacrifice. Are you known by your love for others?

“A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” John 13:34-35
