When vision is blurred, a person cannot see the way. Everything is unclear. When our vision of God’s standard is blurred, we will not see our way as God intended us to see. We will lose our way and purposely choose the worst pathway. This pathway is miserable and void of thankfulness.

Have you side stepped a genuine relationship with the Savior of the world but taken hold of the gift of salvation that He offers all who believe? Genuine relationship with Jesus impacts personal thankfulness. Today, we will study how the absence of growing genuine relationship with Jesus impacts a thankful heart.

Correctly diagnosing the barricades to thankfulness can open the passage to a thankful heart. What is hindering your ability to function in the realm of thankfulness? It is so helpful when we look to eliminate or walk past those things that hinder thankfulness! This week, we will only look at one choice that hinders our thankfulness.

Without God you and I would destroy ourselves in sin. We are blessed with a will to choose or reject God, so we all must choose to come to God! God has made possible deliverance from eternal destruction. So, for this, we have great motivation to give the one true God a heart full of thanksgiving.

It is an honest man who gives God praise once deliverance is seen; however, it is a man who trusts God who gives God praise when deliverance is only believed and not yet seen. Remember who your great God is! Don’t replace the picture of your great God for the picture of your circumstance!

Thankfulness is not only a command that is the outcome of continual choices, but it is also acknowledgement. Thankfulness is acknowledging who I am and who God is. It is acknowledging what I have done and what God has done.

Honor God by honoring His creation! YOU and I are loved. YOU and I are blessed with Divine gifts. YOU and I are even guided along life’s journey. Sharpen your view on God’s view. May we all find great peace and point those around us to great peace – when we embrace God’s view for our lives!
